Sorry for the delay in developing apps. My computer is in a very fragile state right now. It will not start up at all. This happened after trying to install Ubuntu 7.04 which was unsuccessful. In fact, I am typing right now under the Ubuntu Live CD which ironically, does work. My system will be back up and running with the release of Fedora 7 (Rawhide) on May 31st.
I am also developing an application parallel to PAFL, iProto, which will be a simple and powerful prototyping application available for download at PorTools.com in about a month.
By the way, did I ever tell you how the domain name came to be? PorTools was intentionally meant to stand for Portal Tools(PorTools), but that did not come around. Then I developed PAFL and recently realized that PorTools can be Portable Tools as well! What a strange coincidence!
I am back to PAFL and we have unrolled two new tools: The Bug Reporting Tool, and the Testers tool.
If you have problems with the apps or if the site won't render, please enter the problem into the Bug Reporting tool. If you have time, and if you have tested any of the apps or the site on your platform. please report the results on the Testers tool.
Both will much benefit the development of PAFL.
We are also adding features to the site that might not work in some browsers. If this happens, please report it on the new Testers tool.
Both tools can be found at the tiny Problem? link in the menu.
Thank you very much for benefiting PAFL and enjoy!
I will not be able to do anything on PAFL for a week as I will be gone on a week-long camp trip with my school. (Remember my age. :) Sorry for any inconvienence this may cause. You may still continue posting on the forums and I will answer all questions when I get back on Friday,
Having trouble installing the apps?
Well, we have a solution for you! At the Applications page you will now find the Portable Apps for Linux Easy App Installer. It s a small Perl script that installs the Portable Apps that you want for you! To get it, go to the Applications page and click on the link before the list of apps.
Enjoy!
